1. Overview & Architecture
Pizza Dough Calculator is designed to provide professional, accessible, and fast culinary math to home pizzaiolos and commercial bakers worldwide. We strive to maintain minimal data collection while clearly disclosing all third-party advertising practices.
When you use our application to scale hydration, calculate baker's percentages, or formulate a two-stage Poolish/Biga dough, all mathematical computations are executed locally via client-side JavaScript on your CPU. We do not maintain a database of user profiles, nor do we require personal accounts or logins to access our calculation suite.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect Directly
To provide peace of mind regarding your culinary calculations:
- No Mandatory Personal Identifiable Information (PII): You do not need to provide your name, physical address, phone number, or government identifiers to use the calculator.
- No User Account Passwords: There are no password fields, OAuth logins, or account profile databases on this site.
- No Payment or Credit Card Data: Pizza Dough Calculator is free to use; we never request credit card numbers, billing addresses, or banking details.
- No Recipe Formula Surveillance: The pizza recipes, hydration percentages, and ingredient ratios you calculate are never logged or stored on our servers.
3. LocalStorage & Your Saved Dough Formulations
To offer a persistent user experience without requiring a backend account, our application utilizes standard browser HTML5 LocalStorage. This data remains strictly stored on your own device and is never transmitted over the internet to our servers.
How to clear your local data: You have full sovereignty over this data. You can delete individual recipes from the "Saved Recipes" drawer, click "Clear All" in the calculator, or clear your browser's site data at any time through your browser's settings.
5. Analytics & Server Access Logs
Like virtually all web applications, our infrastructure and content delivery network (CDN) providers may automatically log standard technical request metadata when your browser requests static assets (such as HTML, CSS, images, or JavaScript bundles).
These logs may include your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and the date/time of access. This information is processed strictly for security monitoring, DDoS mitigation, server capacity planning, and ensuring fast global content delivery. These technical logs are not merged with personally identifiable profiles.
6. URL Recipe Sharing
When you click "Share Recipe" or "Copy Link", the calculator encodes your recipe configuration into the URL hash or query parameters (e.g., ?balls=4&weight=260&hyd=65...).
This link allows you to share your formulation with friends, baking forums, or social communities without needing cloud storage. The recipient's browser reads the parameters directly from the URL. No recipe database or cloud link shortener is used.
7. GDPR, UK DPA & CCPA/CPRA Rights
Under international data privacy frameworks—including the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK Data Protection Act, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA)—individuals have specific rights regarding personal data processing and advertising consent:
- Right to Access & Portability: All your custom dough formulations reside directly in your browser's LocalStorage and can be exported as JSON or printed at will.
- Right to Erasure: You can instantly wipe 100% of your saved recipes and local settings by clearing your browser cache or deleting recipes from the UI.
- Right to Opt-Out of Personalized Ads: European and Californian users may manage their advertising choices via the consent banner or by visiting Google Ads Settings and www.aboutads.info.
8. Data Security
We implement industry-standard encryption protocols (HTTPS/TLS) across the entire domain to guarantee that all interactions, static assets, and scripts are securely transmitted without tampering or interception.
9. Children's Privacy
Our culinary tools and educational baking resources are designed for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in applicable European jurisdictions).
10. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our advertising partners, legal requirements, or new culinary features. Any updates will be posted directly to this page with a revised "Last Updated" timestamp.
